Surf owns Mookie

Surf won his 6th Mookie and denied Mookie his 1st win HU.

yada yada yada, analysis of who wins each blonkament.

It takes aggression or ability to exploit aggros to win MATH.

It takes playing tight to win skills.

Winning Mookie is all luck it is only possible explanation for why Hoy has not won.

Winning Riverchasers takes the extreme skill to exploit drunken donkeys playing from bars.

Definition of "sucking out" is expanded to include situations where button raising with 89s and Hoy hits middle pair against opponent (ex Bayne) hits top pair. It matters not that 89 was behind whole hand, it is suckout when aggro raises weak and hits weakly enough to get in trouble.

MATH Recap, and Monsters on the Flop

MATH 39 runners, fuel wins.

Look for big turnout on bodog and in skill series tonight.

When you are pre-flop aggressor, oop caller rarely bets out when he flops a monster unless he is donkey or tricky.

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Flopped overboat and ran into flopped quads, RNG has sick sense of humor on Sundays.

Haters would disgaree but calling an all in with 2:1 chip lead HU with 66 is bad poker when playing a 1 seat tourney.

MATH tonight.

Live on Wednesday Night

Cpngrats to OMGitsPokerfool for 2nd in MATH and taking down 1st 2 pushfests and a controversial tie in 3rd.

Congrats to Byron on win.

That being said:

HoySynopsis will be shut down until someone attempts an explanation to justify why table speed is a factor in a last shorter bet and having multiple people bust out 1st hand is not a tie and table speed in a last longer bet (with required pushing) is not allowed to factor in while table changes (and positioning) decide these quite frequently.

Blogger Tournament Nirvana

Cutting edge developments in O8 starting hand selection and post flop play were on display in Skillz game last night. Congratulations to LJ and to Rake Feeder for chopping.

Recovered from early setup hand when evil assistant flopped overboat against trips and 2 additional big bets were lost when turn brought smaller boat. To quote Drizz "Omaha 303: How to fold a boat". Eventually one of the new starting hands wore me down and IGH middle of pack.

We are at height of blogger tournament. Every Night of week there is a game, numbers are outstanding even without BBT in progress, even on Bodog.

Tonight is Mookie, watch for more futility.

Eyes have tells.

MATH and FTOPS

FTOPS #10 here I come.
Key hand 97s raised from button cracked AA in BB when he smooth called, 996 flop was sweet.

Key point in satellite strategy is steal when short, jam when you think you are ahead as shorty or medium stack but protect your chips in marginal situations when solidly in qualifying position.

Here are this week's cashers in Mondays at the Hoy:
1. $297.60 twoblackaces
2. $171.12 surflexus
3. $119.04 VinNay
4. $89.28 bartonf
5. $66.96 hoyazo w00t

Mookie Thoughts

Congrats to cmitch for winning the tournament I will never win.

RaisingCayne took some chips when I raised a straight using 1 card from hand, best case scenario for a caller is chop or he has me beat with a paired board.

Busted when reputation for playing hammer was punished by a 22 calling for 30 BBs. He was 70/30 favorite but normal best case being 50/50 or 82/18 this is just horrible poker.

Riverchasers tonight.

Lawyers and Poker

Trip's post comments summarized
1. 9 poker blogger lawyers. IT next biggest profession.
2. Stress relief required.
3. More disposable income for our reloading pleasure.

The Real Truth as Proclaimed by Hoy.
1. Lawyering requires logic
2. Risk analysis allows me to make speculative calls when impled odds allow.
3. Aggression is important (ex. Jordan, LJ and Hoy may be 3 biggest aggros at any table)
4. Bluffing - Lawyers don't really lie it is more a matter of hiding the truth when it suits the greater goal.
5. Reading People is required in contract negotiation and litigation. It is why lawyers never get their money in bad live.

Playing +EV Tournaments, and Skill Series PLO Blonkament Tonight

MATH saw 25 runners. 2 bad calls led to an early exit (1st was FCD on FCD violence, why would Hoy chase a low flush other than to pad flush under flush stats?).

Chad says: "I've just always viewed the $1K as -EV."

"I am just being the pompous ass that I am to think I can even run with these guys"

Blogger Skill Series tonight at 9pm ET on full tilt.

Mookie Curse '08, Dookie Victory and 2007 Blogiverse Highlights

Today's synopsis brought to you by the mind of Waffles.
My apologies in advance.

New Year. Same Mookie bullshit. I played bad. I got all in vs JackAce. I am brilliant. I lost.
Setup hands they are against me. They exist. Beware.
See what did I say. Mookie. Setup. Suckout. Will it ever end?
Evil Wonka won his 44th Mookie title while I wonder about what should have been. Key to Mookie is to be Hoy-Hater, begin self-loathing in preparation for next week.

I won the dookie. I told you I am smart. Holdem is a low skill game. My skill shines in Stud. I chopped with Chad because we are both ballahs.
Why is full tilt picking on me. So frustrated. I can not win the mookie but I win every dookie.
Look back on 2007.
1. I really started the BBT2. Al just helped by getting drunk. (Al was really also credited with securing fabulous prizes) .Thank me later.
2. Donkament is therapy. Kat wanted to quit after week two. I convinced her to continue.
3. Buddy Dank Radio. Cool and innovative. Why did I not think of it? I must have.
4. I would have man sex with Don
5. Astin is lucky. That is the only reason he ever beat me. Card rack.
6. Did I tell you a hundred times I cashed in the WSOP? I will before 2008 is over. I cashed in the WSOP!
7. The MTT Ballahs like me and me and me finally convinced Full Tilt to have re buy tourneys. I own these too.
8. A lot more people to read me
9. Went to Vegas to see my friends
10. I cashed big often
I will enlighten you with my 2008 goals. See you at riverchasers.

2007: My Poker Year in Review

Became a mixed game player, won the weekly Big buy in HORSE on Tilt, moved on with ownership never to play again.

Poker not about the money (other than to keep score), trend for year was win something once and never play it again.

I will play Mookie until I die.

For me poker is about WSOP. Now that I have cashed I want a win!
